Exhibition Poster

This poster was made to advertise a Smithsonian Institute exhibit on postal art. Since the exhibit features correspondence from multiple demographics in various countries, I incorporated different styles and subject matter. The content ranges from the lgbt movement to political statements on South Africa and the USSR. Other components are seemingly random, such as a sock, poorly-drawn animals and paint color chips. The layout of the type was inspired by both the handwritten type on the letters and Japanese-style posters in which typography borders the main content. This project was for educational purposes only.
