Visual Essay
The goal of this illustration was to create an effective piece of reportage art in a style that matched the subject. It focuses on a hairdresser from Kutztown, and tells the story of who he is through visual snapshots and an interview writeup. To keep the high-end-meets-retro feel that he tries to achieve in his workplace, I based the illustration style off of vintage Vogue covers from the 20s-40s.
